Woman’s City Club seeks to engage members more fully in its ongoing work. As we approach our 100th anniversary, we welcome new members to come make history with us:

Membership


Woman’s City Club offers many opportunities for members to participate in the work of the Club in ways that address their interests, skills, and availability. Members can participate in the life of the club by attending forums and other educational programs, salons, workshops, and outings or by joining an Action Group.

We also welcome members to participate as active volunteers in the planning, support, and administration of the organization by working on a committee.
Tasks:

  • Plan 6-8 programs or forums on topics consistent with WCC’s mission.
  • Host a salon in your home or other comfortable setting.
  • Invite another community organization to co-sponsor a program.
  • Design publicity (program flyer, Bulletin article) for the program.
  • Provide hospitality (coordinate refreshments, greet guests at events.)

Office Support

Tasks:

  • Assist the Board and Office Manager in administrative functions.
  • Assist with mailings
  • Maintain and update database
  • Maintain and update website
  • Fundraising and grant writing
  • Legal advice
  • Work on Community Shares support tasks required by WCC to receive contributions

Bulletin

Tasks:

  • Publish Bulletin, WCC’s monthly newsletter.
  • Solicit, edit, and proofread content.
  • Write up reports/ articles on events.
  • Photograph events

Publicity and Public Relations

Tasks:

  • Increase public awareness of WCC’s mission, resources, and activities.
  • Coordinate publicity for WCC-sponsored events and activities.
  • Work with media and other organizations to promote WCC’s public image.

Membership Recruitment and Involvement

LindaTasks:

  • Recruit new members (with particular attention to diversity).
  • Involve new and old members by hosting gatherings to foster conversation and connection.
  • Serve as coordinator connecting members with committee tasks.
  • Help with work of membership committee.

Initiate New Civic Activities or Reinvigorate Actions that are currently inactive

Such as:

  • Monitoring of local government: City Council, Council Committees, Hamilton County Commissioners, School Board meetings.
  • Writing letters to officials and to media stating WCC position on issues of importance (NB: public or written statements of WCC positions must first be approved by the Board.)
  • Starting a new Action Group on an issue of concern to you.
  • Planning and organizing workshop events, such as leadership retreats for women.
