On October 17, Woman’s City Club partnered with the League of Women Voters and the Cincinnatus Society to present a forum on charter amendments that voters will see on the ballot. David Mann, Greg Landsman, Carolyn Miller, Dot Christenson, and Don Mooney participated in “Charting the City’s Future: Pros and Cons of Proposed City Charter Amendments.” Here is a link to the video of this engaging and informative session.
On Wednesday, September 17, 2018 Woman’s City Club welcomed a full audience to learn about and participate in a conversation about the pros and cons of Issue 1, the Neighborhood Safety, Drug Treatment, and Rehabilitation Amendment. The question addressed was, “Can we improve community health and safety by reducing the prison population?” A full report appears in the October Bulletin.

Woman’s City Club’s 2018 Women’s Economic, Mental, and Physical Health Expo on Fountain Square took place on Sept. 28, 2018. Video shows Pone Dancers at the conclusion. Over 25 organizations participated in this event.

At the March 23 Thriving Cincinnati Forum, “Women’s Leadership in the Labor Movement,” a panel discusses the strong advantages of such roles. Women leaders help ensure strong, vital unions that provide a livable wage and benefits for their members.

A panel representing law enforcement, community and a social service agency spoke to us about interventions and methods they use to track and prevent violence: Lieutenant Colonel Maris Heroldfrom University of Cincinnati Police; Captain Lisa Davis from District 1, Cincinnati Police; Ozie Davis from the Avondale Youth Council and Development Corporation; and Fredda McGoff of Lighthouse Youth Services.
